Twenty-nine years ago today, this 110 pound, filthy rich chick fluttered to earth. Well, that’s what the chickadees believe anyway. That's mainly because our relationship is based on lies. I just don’t see the sense in telling them the truth to inevitably be whispered on the school playground or blurted out in sharing time one Sunday. Surprisingly, perpetuating the scandal has been easier than you might think.
A few months back, The Squire asked how much money we had in the bank. Knowing what goes in will come out, I nonchalantly admitted we had a good million in there. At his urging to hop on the Wii Fit and weigh?: Sorry kiddo, I don’t weigh enough for it to register. Overhearing me tell a friend of my schemes, Lady May GASPED at hearing me confess I would be turning 29. I know! Mommy’s getting SO old.
Shocked? Don’t be. It’s just one of the many things my, ahem, 29 years of life experience has taught me. Life has also revealed I have good parents who provided a stable, nurturing home, a kind and hard working husband who gives me wings to be who I am, two beautiful children who remind me of what’s important in life, good friends who uplift me, and a Heavenly Father who loves me no matter what. I’m a blessed girl--a young, thin, rich girl, mind you; but I'm a blessed girl most of all...
and that’s no lie.
You're so awesome, Stephanie! No lie! Have a great birthday!
