Preserving My Constitutional Right:

"The right of the people to keep and BARE Arms, shall not be infringed."

Against my better judgment, I bought a new top. It’s not that it was a bad choice because of the economic crunch or that I don’t enjoy buying new clothes. On the contrary, Sir William would argue I like to keep our money where I can see it—hanging in my closet! My hesitation was because the top is short-sleeved.

To explain, I recently had the misfortune of seeing myself in a photo wearing cap sleeves. My arms looked GINORMOUS! It was insulting. I haven’t exerstarved for the last year to be seen with monster arms, so I hastily banned all tops with sleeves above the elbow. No more short-sleeves. Not even when it’s a bazillion degrees outside in the summer. Not even if it’s a designer, hot pink, farewell to winter top with tuxedo ruffles at Ross for ten bucks that fits me like I was born to wear it, short-sleeved shirt. Nope--not even that one.

Well, at least that’s how it was until I told a friend of my error: “It’s the tuxedo ruffles. You know my weakness for tuxedo ruffles. The thing practically jumped in my cart. Aggghhh! I need an intervention!!”

There was a pause, and then she intervened in the way only a true friend can: “You need big arms to carry the burden you have to bear!”

So there it is.

I have big arms to be thankful for and good friends to lift me when the weight of them begins to drag me down…

Oh, and a really cute hot pink short-sleeved top with tuxedo ruffles. All is right with the world once again.

  4. I call mine relief society arms, I used to make fun of the chorister in sacrament when I was little. I guess that is what I get for mocking someone in church. You look amazing, you haven't changed a bit.
